Spinal Injured Client Promotes Use of Cycle Helmets on YouTube

The Spinal Injuries Association recommended Barratts Solicitors to Dr Donal McNally. Dr McNally instructed David Tomlinson to act on his behalf in recovering compensation for his spinal injury. Dr McNally was wearing a cycle helmet on his ride home from work when he was the victim of a hit and run accident. He suffered spinal fractures but he believes the helmet helped saved his life.

As an Associate Professor of Bio-Engineering Dr McNally has a great deal of insight into his spinal injury. He works at the University of Nottingham where he conducts research into spinal mechanics and accidents. Now Dr McNally is leading a campaign to encourage more people to wear cycle helmets whenever they ride their bikes.

Dr McNally has created this fascinating YouTube video setting out the details of his accident, his spinal injuries, the use of cycle helmets and his reaction to the conviction of the car driver who caused his injuries. The Police eventually traced the driver and she pleaded guilty to dangerous driving.
